The Problem

Vodafone Egypt needed to track and monitor driving violations across its fleet in order to enforce safety policies, improve driver behavior, and enhance operational efficiency.

The critical violations data was held inside a third-party fleet management application operated by an external vendor. This application was legacy in nature — and it offered nothing in terms of integration:

- No APIs or data endpoints - No direct database access - No out-of-the-box connectors or export formats - No programmatic interface of any kind

In practical terms, the system was a complete black box. Vodafone had no automated way to extract, process, or analyze the violation data it needed. All reporting depended on manual processes: someone logging in, navigating the interface, exporting what they could, and assembling reports by hand.

This created significant operational problems: delays in identifying high-risk drivers, inconsistent data quality due to manual handling, no real-time visibility into fleet compliance trends, and a recurring administrative burden that consumed staff time without adding decision-making value.

The Solution

QueuesHub designed and built a custom Data Platform capable of securely extracting, processing, and visualizing fleet violation data — without modifying or disrupting the legacy source system in any way.

Data Extraction Bot

At the core of the solution is a specialized extraction bot that authenticates with the third-party Altair platform on a daily schedule. The bot navigates the interface programmatically, retrieves violation records, validates the retrieved data against defined rules, cleanses anomalies, and transforms the output into a structured format ready for storage and analysis.

Data Storage

The processed data is persisted in a MySQL relational database, designed and optimized for the specific query patterns required by the analytics layer. The schema supports performant filtering by driver, vehicle, branch, violation type, and date range.

Backend & API Layer

A Laravel-based backend handles all business logic, analytics calculations, and API services. It enforces Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to ensure each user can only access the data and reports relevant to their role within the organization.

Analytics Dashboard

An Angular-powered frontend delivers an interactive violation management dashboard with real-time data filtering, trend charts, branch-level drill-down, high-risk driver identification, and exportable reporting. The interface was designed for non-technical users — operations managers and fleet supervisors — who needed clear answers without complexity.

The extraction bot runs on a daily schedule, ensuring the dashboard is consistently populated with the latest violation data without any manual intervention.

Improved Data Quality

Built-in validation and cleansing eliminated the errors that were endemic to the previous manual process, producing reports that Vodafone's operations team could trust.

Management gained immediate access to violation trends, high-risk driver profiles, and branch-level performance data — replacing a process that previously took days with one that takes seconds.

The elimination of manual data collection and report assembly freed staff from a time-consuming administrative burden, redirecting their capacity toward productive operational work.
